Badgerbrook Breads, based in South East London, provide you with a comprehensive 5½ hour class demonstrating (and letting you have hands on experience too!) the art of breadmaking, including rolls, yeasted loaves and soda bread. Please note that all of the breads are made using wheat flour, but if you have any other allergies, please advise – you are served a delicious lunch as part of the day and also afternoon tea!.
Aprons are provided, all ingredients etc., and you take away samples of your busy baking day. As a value added item, you are given email support after your class to help you with any questions or doubts, a great professional support from a good team. A true expert in baking bread from fairly usual loaves through to artisan style bakery. Not only that, he makes great pasta too!
Based in Beckenham, you could not wish for a more instructive course – you will learn the different textures and styles of bread, including ciabatta, baguettes, Provencale style olive bread, and an incredible Gruyere and Cumin bread, with a an exquisite taste – a dinner party showstopper.
The classes are definitely hands on, and geared towards the homebaker who wants to produce what they learn in the class, in the comfort of their own home. Stephen talks you through how the dough should feel and all about texture.
There is a delicious lunch provided, and perhaps a glass of wine (or two!). If you want to learn how to make light and airy mouthwatering bread, you must try Stephen’s courses.
The Great London Bake Off – Jenus Social
Not to be missed – everything can be learnt here to become the ultimate master baker. This course walks you through making savoury bread, brioche, stollen and croissants. You’ll first be introduced to the science of bread and how it works, followed by the techniques and hands on demonstrations of making all these delicious varieties of ‘bread and breakfast’ (please note the pun!). Be prepared for a full on course and aching arms as you try to perfect your kneading.
Everything is provided including aprons and all ingredients, and the course runs for 4 hours. Your expert teacher will provide you with all the tricks of the trade on a thoroughly enjoyable and informative course.
